My First Tutorial ~ Tri-Fold Card

This card is for Simply Scrapping's Wednesday Card Challenge. For this challenge I made a tutorial for it and it's my very first one. I didn't create this trifold card but I did change the dimensions from what I had orginally seen. Here is what the card looks like. I used Teachabella from Stamping Bellas as the image and colored it with Copics. I added Clear Glaze Gel pen to outline most of the image and filled in the apple, flowers and vase.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut a piece of cardstock 4” x 12”, then score at 4” and 8”.

2. Now you have three equal scored squares on your cardstock. Add a diagonal score to both of the outside squares. The diagonal scores should go in the same direction.

3. Prefold your scored lines. First fold the left square in, then the triangle down. Next fold the right square in, then the triangle up. When you're done folding, the cardstock should look like this.

4. Cut a piece of patterned paper 3-3/4” x 3-3/4” and then cut it in half diagonally. Adhere the patterned paper triangles to the top right and bottom left triangle on the outer scored squares of your main card.

5. Cut 3-3/4” x 3-3/4” patterned paper and adhere to middle section of the card then cut 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” white cardstock and adhere on top of that patterned paper.

6. Fold your card back up again and adhere ribbon to the back side of the card and tie it shut to the right side of your card.

7. For the top part of the card use a 3”x3” cardstock (same as base or coordinating color if preferred) and layer a 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” coordinating pattern paper on top. Then using white cardstock either stamp and image or sentiment for the very top layer.

8. Add adhesive diagonally only on one half of the back of your main image. If you add adhesive on the entire piece, your trifold will be taped shut. Adhere your center image to your trifold card. Inside of finished card.

Monochromatic Challenge @ SSDS Blog

Here is my card for the challenge. I used Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm. The paper is from several companies. One is "Girl Power" from Cherry Arte and another is "Nightlight Henry" from October Afternoon then some Bazzil green cardstock. I used Copics to color the image.

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog is a new challenge blog and I am proud to say that I am on their Design Team. The challenge was to create a boy card. I always find it more difficult to do a boy card because I love working with flowers and ribbon so much and that usually doesn't work for boy cards. With both my kids in grade school they seem to go to a lot of birthday parties throught the year so I thought I couldn't go wrong with a birthday card for a boy. Here is what I came up with for the challenge.The paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs called "Andrew Sprockets". It's not a new line, I've had it in my stash for a while. The image stamp is "Birthday Ian" from The Greeting Farm. How fun is he? I got the image free during their birthday hop. Yeah me! The sentiment is a good ole' Studio G $1 stamp. Got to love those huh?! I colored the image in Copic markers. I inked all the edges with Cat Eye Chalk ink - Blue Iris. The image and sentiment are pop dotted on. I used my scanner to get the picture on the computer and I think I like it better than taking a picture of it. You can tell it's pop dotted by the shadows so that's pretty neat.

Card Challenge at Simply Scrapping

This week at Simply Scrapping is our Simply Sweet Color Challenge: Your card can be any sketch for any occassion just use these colors and only these colors. Have fun!!

Now here is my card for the challenge. I used Simply Scrapping's card sketch #8 and colored the image with Copics and used a white Gelly Roll pen to make the highlights. The patterned paper is Basic Grey "Ambrosia. I actually stitched on the buttons. That's a big deal for me! I used the Big Shot with Nesties for the scalloped circles.

Those Eyes

I know Austin is my son and I'm totally partial but I just LOVE his eyes!! These pics were back in 2006 but I have been wanting do a LO that focused on his eyes. My girlfriends tell me he's going to be chased by all the girls when he's older. I sooooo don't want to hear that! : O That's just too scary to think about. He's starting 1st grad this coming week and I'm hoping the girl thing is quite a long ways away!

I used Basic Grey - "Marrakech" paper, stickers, brads and rub ons. On the chipboard letters I used "Faded Jeans" Distressed Ink as well as 7 Gypsies rub ons, a white Gelly Roll pen to outline the letters and added a few brads in the holes of the letters.

I've got to get all the entries figured out for the blog candy and will announce the winner tomorrow. At least that's the plan. So stay tuned.

Here is the card I made for the first challenge over at SSDS Challenge Blog. I used Copics to color the image. The paper is "Ba Ba Black Sheep" from Piggy Tales. I really liked how this turned out. It's a more simple card for me in that there are only 2 patterned papers and I usually use more than that but I really like how this came out.

Cheer Anya

It's here!!! I'm so excited to be apart of this blog hop. If you came upon this post and didn't start at the beginning go to either The Greeting Farm Blog or Club Anya Blog and you can find the whole list of participants for this blog hop, there are over 80 blogs included.

I used Cheer Anya to make the birthday card. My daughter, Kaitlyn is a part of a special cheer team and I am giving this to the organizer of the team. This special cheer team is for young girls with special needs. I am so grateful for Michelle for creating this team. The girls LOVE it.

Ooops! I better stop being the proud mom and get back to what you came for ..... the birthday goodies. This is what I put together for the birthday gift to give to Michelle.

I colored the image with Copics and used a clear Glaze Gel Pen to outline her hair, skirt, filled in the pom-poms, socks and hair bows.
Here is a close up of the image and you can see the glaze. I just started doing this and love it.

I pop dotted the image and sentiment. Love the dimension it adds.

I took 3 microwave bags and covered them with the paper, it's about a 6" x 12" to cover all the bags.
I made a criss-cross box and filled with candy. HERE is the tutorial I used for the Criss-Cross Box.I put flavored drink packets in the pouch over the water bottle. HERE is the tutorial for the drink pouch holder. On this one though I didn't follow the tutorial exactly but this is where I got the idea.

I also made this little gift card holder. No template just winged it. I used the SU Tag Punch and SU Birthday Tag Image.

Take Time to Smell the Flowers

Image is colored with Copics, Used Glaze Clear Gel pen on body (red stripes), eyes, flower stem, outlined wings, shoe laces and sentiment. Clouds and image are pop dotted on. Added my own flower over original flower image. Cut out clouds and used blue chalk on them. Also added the blue chalk to the sentiment. Added bling to the top of the antennas. Paper is from Daisy D's "Wonder Years" 8x8 scrap pack.

Going Digi with it.

Used "Stitchy Daisy" Digi Stamp - Colored with Copics and white highlights are done with a gel pen - Patterned Paper is Basic Grey "Ambrosia" - I stitched the buttons on to the card - Yes I ACTUALLY stitched them on myself. Miracles do happen. : )
I colored this digi stamp image with Copic and Bic Marker, Used metal flower picks (a little heavy but it's all I could find) for the antennas, Image is cut out and pop dotted on, Paper is Chatterbox Inc.- Happy Flutter, Happy Bloom and Happy Stroll
Frogs are from the Digi Stamp -"I Toadilly Love You" Paper is Cherry Arte "Vanilla Vintage". I added bling to both of the frogs eyes and added Stickles to the spots on the pink frog.

"Princess" digi sticker, using the pink backing from being printed, paper is Making Memories 8x8 paper pack "Garden Party", SU Scallop punch with stamped HB on it. I added some Stickles to it by just spreading it all over with my finger I added stickles to her dress and star on her head. Then added bling to the dress and for a pair of earrings.

Flower Pot Pocket Card - Love this one!

Wow is today Wednesday!!! I was thinking I was ahead of the game and posting this for tomorrow. Mommy brain struck again!! HERE is Wednesday's Card Challenge at Simply Scrapping.
This is the last card in the challenge this month to win the BG Card Kit. I think I may have saved the best for last too! This card is so fun and so easy!! You will see once you've made it, you will make more.
Flower Pot Pocket Card

Credits: Inspired by Linda Heller –> Missy Shipman.
Instructions:
Flower pot: Cut cardstock 3-1/2″ x 9″. Score in landscape position at 2″ and 5-1/2″. Fold the 2″ section toward you and the 5-1/2″ section away from you. Trim the edge of the 2″ section with the Scallop Edge Punch. Here’s what the fold looks like from the side:

To make the front look like a pot, place it in a paper trimmer with the front 2″ flap flipped up. Line up the 2″ score line with the cutting track and the 5-1/2″ fold line with the 1/2″ mark on the trimmer as shown below:

Flip down the cutting guide and cut. Flip the cardstock over and repeat.
Cut 3″ x 4″ piece of DSP for front of pot. Adhere to the front, flip over and trim both sides.
Vanilla ribbon is 14″. Place adhesive in center of ribbon and then attach to center upper back of flower pot and tie around.
Stamp sentiment on cardstock, punch out and attach to ribbon with twine.

Flowers: 2 layers, 1 DSP (3″ x 3″) and 1 cardstock. Attach a smidge of adhesive between squares of dsp and cardstock before running thru the Big Shot to keep them together. Leaves are Kiwi Kiss cardstock punched with 5-Petal Flower punch and then cut apart. Attach the leaves to the dsp flower by slightly pulling back the dsp and adhering them behind it.
Flower w/ button: Punch out 3/4″ DSP circle, attach to clear button with glue dot, attach button to flower with glue dot.

Use dimensionals to attach flowers to the top of pull out card. Pull Out Card: Cut brown cardstock 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. Cut White cardstock 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

Ok - Now here is mine.
I had fun making this and when a couple of my friends saw this they oooooh'd and awwwwwwe'd over it. I left a sentiment off because I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for just yet.

I recently received a blog award and I haven't had one of these in a long time. So thank you Erica. We are friends from CafeMom orginally but now follow each other's blog. She's an Angel! No really she is! She's a demonstrator with The Angel Stamp Company. They have some really cool stamps. Go check out her blog and see!


This blog award helps us all to get to know more about each other. OK I'm going to be a total loser and not pass this on. I know beat me with a wet noodle!! I've already checked and several of my blog friends already have it and then the other blogs I follow don't even know who I am and are way to busy to accept these awards. Mainly because everyone gives them one. Oh, it must be sad to be them. ; ) Anywho, thanks Erica for passing this on and here are my 7 things about me.

1. I'm a Diet Coke addict but I'm trying to break the habit as of a couple of days ago. This is going to be hard!

2. Well, I don't like doing these things because I can't think of fun and interesting things about myself.

3. If you can't tell from my blog I'm IN LOVE with the Twilight series and especially Edward. I'm reading Twilight now for the second time but the big thing is I don't like to read!!

4. I love t.v. and watch way too many shows.

5. I am officially living in my dream house. I hope to live here the rest of my life. We have a large home on a large lot. I have my own scrap room yipeeee!! Then last fall we had a pool and hot tub put in. I am LOVING it oh yeah the kids are loving it too. ; )

6. I don't have any tattoos but I've thought about getting one. I always heard the thing when you are young "oh you don't want a tattoo when you are old and saggy it will look bad". Well heck, now I am old and saggy so it couldn't look that bad! My husband says "NO WAY!" though. But I'm just rebellious enough to do it anyways.

7. I have broken my nose, my arm twice and 3 fingers. My nose was when I was little maybe 5 or 6. My arms and fingers were from 6th to 11th grade.

Good there is 7, now I can quit. hehe

I thought this was kind of hard. I've done b&w with one color but never limited to just one item of that one color. So this was a true challenge for me. I used an old paper pack that I had from Hobby Lobby call "Formal Affair" by ScrapWorks. The stamp is new though. It's from Basic Grey and it's one of their small value stamps. I added bling to her eyes, bottom of the dress and she is holding a heart (on the stamp) so I put a bling heart over it for my one color. Isn't she a cutie!
