Anything BUT a Card

After a small break and some changes in our challenges The Sisterhood of Crafters is ready to start challenging you again. This time we are focusing our challenges on trying to help you accomplish things that you need to get done. We want you to create something you need and will use. For the challenge this week you are to create anything BUT a card. So if you have a LO that needs to be done or gift that needs to be made go for it. Get R done!

I made a couple of bookmarks for my son, Austin. He is in 2nd grade this year and he is starting to read for enjoyment. He needed some bookmarks and I asked if he wanted to make him some. He said yes but make them something I like. I was going to make them boyish but then he said like "Tom and Jerry". He loves that on the Cartoon Network. So I went online and found these images and just printed them out. No coloring on this at all.
If you didn't notice the book that I'm using is "Shiver". I was told about this from another Twilight fan. They said I'd like this if I like Twilight that I would like this and I did. I have since bought "Linger" and started it but then loaned it out to my sister. Hopefully I'll get it back soon and can finish it.
The next is a corner bookmark. I found this spider image and just printed it off and did color it a little. Then I just glued it on on a corner bookmark that I made.
Now check out what the other DT's did at The Sisterhood of Crafters. They made some great projects this week.

Lollipop Crafts Challenge

Over at Lollipop Crafts this week the challenge is Sympathy. Now I consider this a real challenge. Making a sympathy card is definitely not one of my favorite things to do. But it is nice to have a card ready to send out when needed. Unfortunately it seems like when I do make a sympathy card I end up using within a short period of time. Hope that doesn't happen this time. : (

Inside of card:

We have another generous sponsor for this week's challeng and it is Fairy Knoll Magical Digi Stamps. If you participate in this challenge you will be in the drawing to win some of their images. You can check out their digi images right HERE. Now head on over to Lollipop Crafts and see what the other Lollipop Girls made for their project.

Ribbons and Buttons with Lollipop Crafts

The challenge this week at Lollipop Crafts is to use ribbon and buttons on your project.

I used Fresh Brewed Designs image called "Have a Tweet Christmas". I just typed the sentiment under the image before I printed it. It is colored with Copics and the fluff on the hat is made with Liquid Applique. The challenge is to use ribbon and buttons which I did but it ended up looking more like a "non-traditional" Christmas card. Maybe it's because the heat index was 111 degrees on Friday when I made the card. Not feeling very Christmasy around here right now.
Our sponsor this week is Fresh Brewed Designs, so one lucky challenge participant will win some images from them. You can check out their digi images at their Etsy shop HERE.

Now check out Lollipop Crafts and see what the other Lollipop Girls did for their ribbon and buttons project.

Birthday Bash Blog Hop

The Sisterhood of Crafters is celebrating the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of our sister Teri's digital image store called Delicious Doodles with a Birthday Bash Blog Hop. Now if you came from you are on the right track, if you didn't you'll need to start at the beginning of the hop which is at The Sisterhood. Teri is celebrating at her Delicious Doodles shop blog by having a FREE DIGI-a-DAY this week - August 16th through 20th. Be sure to stop by her shop each day and grab the freebie! Some of her images are far from what I would call a "doodle"! She is a VERY talented artist and beautiful sketches too.

I used Teri's Delicious Doodle - Celebrate with Cake for my image. I colored it with Copics and used paper from my scraps for the entire card. WOO HOOO---love using those scraps. I just typed the Happy Birthday Sentiment under the image before I printed it out.
This is a gift holder card that I have made before - very easy. HERE is a tutorial I did on how to make this card.
The sentiment inside is from either Ginger's House Blog or Create with TLC. I couldn't find the exact link but they both have tons of free sentiments.

CSN Stores has donated a $60 gift certificate that you can use on anything you like. CSN Stores has over 200 online stores where you can find everything from dinnerware to storage, to sofas and suitcases! Want to get in on the prize? The challenge this week is to make a project using a Delicious Doodles image.

We are hopping for the next two weeks then we have a whole new round of challenges for you crafty little geniuses so be sure to make the rounds and come back to The Sisterhood September 1st for some fun!

The last stop on this birthday hop is the birthday girl's blog - Delicious Doodles. Thanks for hopping by. : )

Ling Love - Lollipop Challenge

For our 3rd challenge over at Lollipop Crafts, you are to create a project that is pet related.

I did a LO with my daughter Kaitlyn and our cat Ling. The paper is a line from My Mind's Eye. I used some sparkly stickers to make the title. They were pink and I took a Copic marker and colored over them to get them to a color that matched. It worked perfectly.
I probably need to journal a little bit on this to explain the title. My husand will get Ling if one of the kids is upset and say "Do you need some Ling Love?" Well, Kaitlyn likes to get Ling love a lot and will go and get it on her own! Not sure if you can tell but Ling doesn't really care for it at all. : )

Now go check out what the other Lollipop DT's did at Lollipop Crafts.

Baby Shower Blog Hop - Lollipop Style

Lollipop Crafts is having our first Blog Hop. It's kind of early for us to do this since this is only our second week running but we are doing it in honor of one of our own - Kris - who is going to have a baby. Well by the time you read this she may have already had him. We are making this a Baby Shower Blog Hop. Now if you didn't arrive here from Barbara's blog then be sure to start at the beginning of the hop at Lollipop Crafts.

For this hop/challenge we all made a baby boy project. I made a LO with my son Austin and his cousin Zakkary. It's a pretty simple LO but the boys were so cute I didn't need to do much to the page. It's hard to read the titles because of the glare but it says "Austin meets Zakkary". Then on the left side it's "X Y Z" and the right side says "BOYS". The stickers are blocks just like the paper behind the picture. Now we couldn't have a Blog Hop without offering a prize. Check it out below:

If you want to get in on this prize then be sure to leave a comment on each blog of the hop and a winner will be chosen at random.

Your next stop on the hop is Danni.

Color Challenge with the Sisters

It's time to "Celebrate the Month" with The Sisterhood of Crafters. The colors for the month of August are ORANGE, RED and GREEN. So the challenge is to make any project using these as your main colors.
I made a birthday card using a Stamping Bella image and colored it with Copics. Don't remember what the paper is that I used for this, I forgot to write it down. I made this card about a month ago for my neice's birthday and have already mailed it off. I love it when I actually use what I make. : )

Be sure to check out what my other Sisters did for their color creations at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

Lollipop Crafts - First Challenge

Today is the first challenge over at Lollipop Crafts. Being the first challenge it's going to be an easy one, it's "Anything Goes". That's right, you can create any type of card or project for this challenge. Doesn't get any easier than that does it?!!

I used Meljen's digi image "Candy Land Dreams" for my card. I thought this was the perfect start for me as a Lollipop Girl. : ) I know I went waaaaay overboard on the coloring and embellishing but once I got started, I just couldn't stop. I used Copics to color the image, outlined it with Stickles and then added Dew Drops. I typed the sentiment in under the image before I printed it out.
I also decorated inside the card by adding another image from Meljen Designs and this is a freebie that I got from her blog (scroll down to find the link to her file sharing). I then typed in the Happy Birthday under it and printed it out.

This week the Lollipop Crafts challenge is sponsored by Meljen's Designs which can be found at Whimsy Stamps. Be sure to join in on the challenge for your chance to win some of her awesome images. Now go check out Lollipop Crafts to see what the other DT's made for their projects and then join in on the challenge.

Let's be funny!

The Sisterhood of Crafters has a really simple challenge this week. Create a project that is Humorous & Funny. It can be a funny image, a belly chuckling funny sentiment...whatever makes you chuckle.

I used the digital stamp Frankie Stein by our sister Boni. One of our other sisters suggested the sentiment and as soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to use it. I just typed it up on my computer and printed it out. I love being able to use what is considered a Halloween image for something else.
Boni has just released some great images & sentiments that definitely tickle the funny bone. Be sure to follow Boni's blog: Bonibleaux Designs and check out all her digis at Firecracker Designs by Pamela. Now go to The Sisterhood of Crafters and see the other funny creations and then enter your own in the challenge.

Around the World - USA

This week at The Sisterhood of Crafters the theme is Around The World. We are stopping in the good ole' USA for this week's challenge. We would like to see your Red, White and Blue.

I ended up making 2 cards for this challenge. One for the 4th, which I know has already past now but hey, I did make it before the 4th. : ) I added some Stickles to the number 4, the flag, the scallop and the bee's antennas.
The other I used the same paper but made it a birthday card. I thought this would be good for a birthday around the 4th or just for a guy's birthday.
Check out the challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and see what our other sisters created too.

Bonibleaux Designs Y'All!

Hello Sisters! This week at The Sisterhood of Crafters, we are featuring new images from one of our very own sisters -- Boni Boutelle-Jones! Bonibleaux Design images can be found at FireCracker Designs by Pamela right HERE. There's even fabulous sentiments to go along with each manly image (because we all know that man cards can be a challenge).

The challenge this week is to create a card for a man. Here is what I came up with:
I used the Ken image and my own sentiment that I just typed up and printed out. You can get this Ken image for free right HERE. I really wanted the teeth to shine so I put some Glossy Accents on it but it actually made them yellow a little bit. I may have used to much. I colored the image with Copics.

This challenge comes with a prize! A $5 gift certificate will be given to one lucky challenge participant to get some of these fun images designed by Boni. So go on over to The Sisterhood of Crafters and see what our other sisters did for the challenge, then enter your own card.

Stamp by Step - Guest Designer

I'm going to share a few more things that I made for Stamp-By-Step as their Guest Designer for July. This first one is of my daughter and it was a school picture from this past year. It's pretty simple design for me because I usually don't leave so much blank space but since I really liked the pattern of the paper I didn't want to cover it up too much.

"Kaitlyn"
Paper: Fancy Pants Clair de Lune
Embellishments: Flora Studios flowers, Ric-Rac Ribbon,
Flower Brad Accents

This next one is a friend of mine's daughter and neice. I loved this paper and wanted to use it for LO but did not have any pictures that would work for it. I was scrapping with my friend and she had these pics that went well so I scrapped this page for her.

"Cousins"
Paper: Fancy Pants Clair de Lune
Embellishments: Sheer Organza Ribbon, Twill Tape
Buttons by American Craft, Flowers

Covered Composition Book
Paper: Fancy Pants Clair de Lune
Embellishments: Flora Studios flowers, Ric-Rac Ribbon,
Twill Tape

I've got a few more projects that I will share next week. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the cool products that Cheryl has over at Stamp-By-Step. : )

Celebrate the Month - Flower Challenge

It is my turn to be hostess at The Sisterhood of Crafters, this is my first time to host. This week as our theme is Celebrate the Month. For those of you who do not know, the flower for the month of July is the Delphinium, Larkspur or Water Lily.

The challenge this week is to create any type of project using one of these flowers.
I chose the WaterLilly and used a digital stamp by Delicious Doodles. She also has a beautiful Delphinium. I love the Delphinium she made but I totally butchered it when coloring it. Some of our Sisters though used it and did a beautiful job on it.

Since I am hosting this week, I decided to offer up a prize. It will given by random draw to all who participate in the challenge. For the prize, I have 9 sets of clear stamps.
So check out The Sisterhood of Crafters, the beautiful projects the sisters created then join in on the challenge for your chance to win all these stamps. :D

Stamp by Step - July Guest Designer

I am honored to be the Guest Designer for July at Stamp-by-Step. I have some fabulous products from their store to use for my designs. Throughout the month I will showing you all the items I made. You can go to Stamp-By-Step and click on the Guest Designer and see all my projects at once but I will be showing you a couple each week of this month.

The first 2 items I made were thank you cards that I can use for my kids teachers next year.I used the stamps Lilly & Billy Sweethearts on both cards. I know these are Valentine's stamps but I like to be able to use them for more than just Valentines so I just used some rub on sentiments and but the "thank" above the image and the "you" inside the heart. Both cards used paper from October Afternoon "Fly A Kite" . On this girl one I used a Dazzlers Florette and I love the way this flower sparkles.

Both cards have grosgrain ribbon on them and images were colored with Copic markers. I love that I already have 2 cards ready for the next school year. I'll be showing a couple of more items next week. Be sure to stop by Stamp-By-Step and check out all the cool products she has.

The Sisterhood Of Crafters - Social

I'm finally back in the game!! I'm going to start posting more frequently which means I am crafting again. To start back I'm joining my sisters at The Sisterhood of Crafters for the social and challenge this week. It couldn't be a more time appropriate challenge, well at least it is for me. The social is to talk about our favorite movie and the challenge is to make something that represents the movie. Well H... E.. L... L... O..... of course it's TWILIGHT for me! This is a planner that I made the end of last year and I showed the cover but don't think I ever showed the finish project. So here it is....

The black flourishes and wings are grungeboard that I inked up. I used my Twilight stamps to make the Team Edward, Cullen banner and the word Twilight. The birds were on the paper as well as the "A Beautiful Distraction". How stinking appropriate is that???!!!!!! : D
Front Inside Cover

Back Inside Cover
I had to give some room to the wolves. Although I'm Team Edward, you can't deny the hunky wolves. ; )
Back CoverI hope you stop by The Sisterhood of Crafters and check out the other sister's projects.Would love to hear what your favorite movie is even if it's not Twilight. ; )

Hear is my motto about the Twilight Saga:
I'm Team Edward not Rob
I'm Team Taylor not Jacob

BTW is Taylor legal yet???!! ; )

Teacher's Gift

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I've blogged. It's been that long since I've been crafting too. I am beginning to miss it now so I'm going to get started again real soon.

Thought I'd share with you real quick about the only thing I have created in a while and it's not much. For teacher appreciation I got these roses.
The only thing I did to dress it up a little was stamped on the card and add a little ribbon to it. Then on the front of the pot I added a flower. Simple, yet the teachers loved it.
That's is for now. We are going on a family vacation to Play Del Carmen, Mexico this Saturday. I'm so excited. This is the first time the kids will ride in a plane and their first beach experience. Nothing like spoiling them with one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!!

I hope to start creating again once we are back from vacation. I want to get back in the game and start playing along with my sisters over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.
