**NEW** Digital Ink Co. Store/Blog/Design Team

Woot, Woot!! I'm on a new design team!! It's for Digital Ink Co. and there is a challenge blog for the store too. Ok, so....I said I was never going to do digital scrapbooking. Well, when am I going to learn to stop saying NEVER! This new store is nothing but digital and yeah, I'm on the design team. How crazy is that! I think I'm going to end up getting Paint Shop Pro before it's all over with. So for now I'm just dipping my toe into the digital stuff by using digital stamps. I've been doing that for a some time now and LOVE IT! You get the image immediately after you pay for and there ya go -- immediate gratification! Then you just download, print, color and add to your project. You don't have to go through all your stamps, get out the ink, stamp, get ink on your fingers, clean the stamp, put it back up THEN start coloring your image. So have I sold you on digi stamps yet?? Well, go check out some of the great images over at Digital Ink Co.

Oh but before you leave let me also tell you about the challenge blog that goes along with the store. It's called Digital Ink Co. Challenge Blog. I suppose you could have guessed that huh?! For our first challenge we were to use a beautiful image by Jules' Junk called Poppy. I made a card for the challenge and used paper from Basic Grey "Ambrosia-Zest", BoBunny - "Gift of Love". The square bling is Glitz - Black Frosting. I added black Stickles to the middle of the flower and colored the image with Copics.

Now you need to go to Digital Ink Co. Challenge Blog and check out all the other new designers we have on the team too. Some very talented ladies! Also if you want to get your hands on this little fellows behind, you need to join in on the challenge.

This is what the winner of the challenge will receive - Lil Cowboy by M&M Designz. Now how stickin' cute is he?!!

My First Tutorial ~ Tri-Fold Card

This card is for Simply Scrapping's Wednesday Card Challenge. For this challenge I made a tutorial for it and it's my very first one. I didn't create this trifold card but I did change the dimensions from what I had orginally seen. Here is what the card looks like. I used Teachabella from Stamping Bellas as the image and colored it with Copics. I added Clear Glaze Gel pen to outline most of the image and filled in the apple, flowers and vase.

I have these instructions on a word document if you would like a copy of it you can go to Simply Scrapping's Wednesday Card Challenge where there is an attachment of the document or email me at diane.davies@yahoo.com and I will email you it to you.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut a piece of cardstock 4” x 12”, then score at 4” and 8”.

2. Now you have three equal scored squares on your cardstock. Add a diagonal score to both of the outside squares. The diagonal scores should go in the same direction.

3. Prefold your scored lines. First fold the left square in, then the triangle down. Next fold the right square in, then the triangle up. When you're done folding, the cardstock should look like this.

4. Cut a piece of patterned paper 3-3/4” x 3-3/4” and then cut it in half diagonally. Adhere the patterned paper triangles to the top right and bottom left triangle on the outer scored squares of your main card.

5. Cut 3-3/4” x 3-3/4” patterned paper and adhere to middle section of the card then cut 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” white cardstock and adhere on top of that patterned paper.
** Ooops sorry I forgot to take a pic of this one. **
(See finished card at the bottom for a pic of the inside layering.)

6. Fold your card back up again and adhere ribbon to the back side of the card and tie it shut to the right side of your card.
7. For the top part of the card use a 3”x3” cardstock (same as base or coordinating color if preferred) and layer a 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” coordinating pattern paper on top. Then using white cardstock either stamp and image or sentiment for the very top layer.
** Ooops sorry I forgot to take a pic of this one too. **

8. Add adhesive diagonally only on one half of the back of your main image. If you add adhesive on the entire piece, your trifold will be taped shut. Adhere your center image to your trifold card. Inside of finished card.

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog is a new challenge blog and I am proud to say that I am on their Design Team. The challenge was to create a boy card. I always find it more difficult to do a boy card because I love working with flowers and ribbon so much and that usually doesn't work for boy cards. With both my kids in grade school they seem to go to a lot of birthday parties throught the year so I thought I couldn't go wrong with a birthday card for a boy. Here is what I came up with for the challenge. The paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs called "Andrew Sprockets". It's not a new line, I've had it in my stash for a while. The image stamp is "Birthday Ian" from The Greeting Farm. How fun is he? I got the image free during their birthday hop. Yeah me! The sentiment is a good ole' Studio G $1 stamp. Got to love those huh?! I colored the image in Copic markers. I inked all the edges with Cat Eye Chalk ink - Blue Iris. The image and sentiment are pop dotted on. I used my scanner to get the picture on the computer and I think I like it better than taking a picture of it. You can tell it's pop dotted by the shadows so that's pretty neat.

Now head on over to Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog and check out what the other design team members did for their boy card. Then get in on the challenge yourself and you just might win a prize.

Blog Award - How fun!

I have a blog award. Thank you to Cheri for this wonderful award. Cheri is a new blog friend and fellow DT member at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays Challenge Blog.

I love this girl. She looks so dramatic.

There are only has 2 requirements for this award.....
1.) Post on my Blog
2.) Pass it on to whoever I want

That's always the hard part. But here is who I choose to pass this award on to:

Inge
Mel Stampz

These are two of my favorite blogs. They do not know me from Adam and probably don't have the time to even acknowledge the award and that's ok. You should go visit their blogs if you don't already "know" them. They do fabulous work!

Those Eyes

I know Austin is my son and I'm totally partial but I just LOVE his eyes!! These pics were back in 2006 but I have been wanting do a LO that focused on his eyes. My girlfriends tell me he's going to be chased by all the girls when he's older. I sooooo don't want to hear that! : O That's just too scary to think about. He's starting 1st grad this coming week and I'm hoping the girl thing is quite a long ways away!

I used Basic Grey - "Marrakech" paper, stickers, brads and rub ons. On the chipboard letters I used "Faded Jeans" Distressed Ink as well as 7 Gypsies rub ons, a white Gelly Roll pen to outline the letters and added a few brads in the holes of the letters.

I've got to get all the entries figured out for the blog candy and will announce the winner tomorrow. At least that's the plan. So stay tuned.

**NEW** Scrap Stamp & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog

Here is the card I made for the first challenge over at SSDS Challenge Blog. I used Copics to color the image. The paper is "Ba Ba Black Sheep" from Piggy Tales. I really liked how this turned out. It's a more simple card for me in that there are only 2 patterned papers and I usually use more than that but I really like how this came out.
So go check out the first challenge for the new SSDS Challenge Blog and see what the other DT's have created.
