Sneek Peek and Top Picks

Yesterday you got a sneek peek at one of the new releases that Digital-Ink Co. is going to have soon. Well here is one more sneek peek.

I also wanted to highlight just a couple of the images from the store that I really like. Each of the creator at Digital-Ink Co. have their own style and bring something different. Judy with M&M Designs and the store's owner has a lot of victorian images for all you vintage fans. Here is one of them I really like, it's called Vintage Bonnet 2.
Wouldn't that make a great vintage Easter card or Mother's day card. Oh or a birthday card for your grandma.

Another designer that has a great image I like is Stitchy Stamps. Stitchy is a huge fan of Twilight and so am I. You couldn't tell from my side bar or anything. hehe Well she drew up these fun vampy images of Edward and Bella. I think this is what I think Edward and Bella would look like as kids and after Bella has "changed". : ) She also has some great silhouette images too.

Speaking of Stitchy, my online Twilight buddy! She left me this blog award on her blog. Isn't she a sweetie?! Thanks Stitchy. : )

Tomorrow I will reveal another sneek peek and a couple more of my top picks at D-IC.

Digital-Ink Co. ~ Quote Challenge and Sneek Peek

The challenge this week for Digital-Ink Co. challenge blog is a quote challenge. That's pretty easy. Just use a quote on your project. It can be any project and any colors just use a quote. So for my quote I used "Friends are the flowers in the garden of life." But I don't know who said it and doesn't look like anyone else does either. I Googled it, which I love to Google : ) and it isn't credited to anyone just says anonymous.

The image I used if from Lil Diva Designs called Emily. I used Copics to color the image and I also traced the sentiment with my Copics. The paper is from My Minds Eye ~ Out and About.

Be sure to enter this very easy challenge over at Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog for your chance to win this fun digi image from Lil Diva Designs called Sids House. Also check out what the other DT's used for their quotes.

Now before I go I have a little sneeky peeky for you! Digital-Ink Co. is having their first official New Releases coming this Thursday, November 12th. So each day until then I'm going to do a little Sneek Peek of the images I got to play with and all will be revealed on Thursday.

SSDS - Special Fold Card Challenge

This week the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge blog is "Special Folds Card". There are so many different ways to make a card than the standard fold in half. I used the Joy Fold and found the instructions HERE.
I used an old paper pack that I had from Making Memories. All the patterned paper and sentiments were in the pack. I didn't have to stamp a thing. This card was so easy to make I just got on a roll with my paper pack and made 2 more. : )
Go check out SSDS and see what the other DT's did for their special folds and then enter your own creation in the challenge for chance at the prize.

D-IC Color Challenge

How about a color challenge? Digital-Ink Co. challenge blog is having a color challenge. Make any project using these colors and enter it in the challenge.
I got out my Copics and found the colors that when pretty good with these. Just FYI if you use Copics here are the colors I used: YG03, RV14, RV11, B00 and for the giraffe Y21 and E35. I don't have a ton of Copics but these matched pretty good. The only place I used the blue on the image was the eyes and that doesn't show up very well. Of course, I had to bling out the baby carriage and pacifier. Hey, don't laugh at my blingy paci!! They do actually have pacifiers with bling these days. : ) The image is from Sewn Together it's called Jaden in Baby Carriage. Paper is from Penny Lane called Tiny Dancer except the the green gingham. I found that in my scrap file. Go to D-IC Challenge blog and enter for your chance to win some fre digi stamps and check out what the other DT's did with the color recipe.

SSDS Challenge Blog - Anything But A Card

This week the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge blog is "Anything but a card". That leaves the field wide open. Everyone one should be able to do this challenge. Look at it as a chance to get something done you need to do. I bet you have some Christmas gifts or possibly teachers gift that need to be made. Well make one then enter it in the challenge. Who knows you may just end up winning the prize and you will have one more thing off your list of to dos.
For my "anything but a card" project I covered this organizer for a very good friend of mine. She bought this for only about $5 and loved how it is laid out to work with each day but the cover was just too boring. She asked if I would "work my magic" on it and yes I do believe those where the words she said. hehe Didn't know I had magical powers did you? Well I do. You should see what happens in my scrap room at night. Paper flying around, glitter magically appearing on everything and scissors disappearing before my eyes. LOL Ok, back to the project.
Here is the before picture:

And here is the after:
The paper is from K&C Company, a paper pack called Wild Saffron. I use a plain old glue stick to adhere the paper to the front and I think it works great. I had some brown chipboard letters that I used for her name but I added some white rub ons to them to add some interest and make her name pop just a little. Then add lots of ribbon to the sprial rings. Christa is not a really girly girl so I had to be careful and not make this to frou frou for her. The only thing she asked was that it not be pink! : ) So I actually held back and didn't add as much ribbon as I probably would have and I didn't bling it up either. She said it was just right.

I love adding a bookmark to planners and journals. I think it's a neat touch and I know I use it on mine.
I used a tab punch and added a tab for each month so she could flip easily to any month she needed.
Christa loved her new and improved organizer.

Does this motive you to go and make a gift for a friend? Well if it does be sure to enter it into the challenge at SSDS challenge blog. Go check it out and see what the other DT's did for their "anything but a card" project.

EDIT: I scheduled this post a while back and in the meantime The Cutting Cafe became our sponsor for this week and gave the DT some fun stuff to play with. So I used the Square Box with Dividers Template and made this fun birthday box.

I used cardstock for the bottom of the box and used some thin patterned paper for the lid. I suggest you DON'T use thin paper. It just wasn't sturdy enough. I added a piece of paper to the inside top of the box to give it a little more strength. It will work find to give as a gift but next time I will use double sided heavy cardstock.

I used my circle Nesties for the sentiment. Then some flowers, bling and ribbon and ta dah!! Not sure who is getting this or what is going inside of it but it will probably be chocolate. : )

So NOW go and check out SSDS challenge blog and get in on the action. The Cutting Cafe will give the challenge winner their choice of 3 of their cutting files!

D-IC Recipe Challenge

The challenge this week at Digital-Ink Co. Challenge blog is a recipe challenge. The recipe is to use:
fabric
glitter
button
bow

on your project. Don't let the fabric scare you off because it can be ANY type of fabric, ribbon, lace or whatever.
I will say I wasn't overly creative on the fabric part of it. I used a wide piece of silk ribbon. The image I used is Flower Bunch by Jules Junk and it's colored with Copics. The paper is from K&Company - Wild Saffron paper pack. The sentiment is from SU. You can sort of see the glitter. I used some Crystal Stickles on the middle of the button and some around the sentiment. I also took a Stardust Gelly Roll pen and outlined the flowers and sentiment.
Be sure to check out the challenge over at D-IC and what the other DT's created with this recipe. This week the prize is from Sewn Together and she has some fabulous images in the store also. Be sure to check them out. The sale is still going on until the end of the month - 1/2 off everything! It's a deal you don't want to pass up! Also you will get a free digi image each month if you sign up for the Digital-Ink Co.'s newsletter. We all like them freebies don't we?!! ; )

Guest Designer @ Digital Two for Tuesdays

Today I have the priveledge of being the Guest Designer at Digital Two for Tuesdays. If you haven't seen this blog you need to go check it out. Every Tuesday Cora posts 2 digital images on her blog for you to use FREE! The images are vintage B&W that are great for coloring and using on your projects. The first image this week is a mediallion style B&W image. I have never printed anything to actually use as patterned paper but that's what I did. The more I look at the card I almost think it should have been a sympathy card. I can always change out the sentiment on it. But other than that I like how it turned out. I usually like a lot more stuff going on with my cards but I'll just call this simple elegance and be happy with that. The next image is the lady at the window. I really took liberties with this one. : ) I was in the mood to make a Halloween card so instead of making pretty little blue birds, I colored them black. I used a new punch I have from Martha Stewart called "Scary Branch" and formed them into trees around the window. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket their Haunted Halloween collection. I colored the image with Copics. I think it's actually a strange Halloween card but hey it's Halloween, strange is allowed, right?!
If you would like to get these images, just go to Digital Two for Tuesday blog and grab them.

SSDS Color Challenge

This week at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge blog I am the featured Design Team member and our Guest Designer is Sue McMahon of McMahon Five Designs. She is also sponsoring the challenge this week. The challenge this week is a color challenge. Make a project that reflects the colors in this picture.
I don't think I did the picture justice. It's so pretty but I'm trying to be practical when I'm doing my work these days and make something I will use. So I made these Blessing Mix boxes.
The images are from McMahon Five Design and I colored them with Copics. Cut the images out and adhered them with pop dots. These images are part of her new release and also part of the prize for the challenge winner. : )
HERE are some free printable Blessing Mix cards you can use. I made the box 2 different sizes just because I was playing with the design the smaller one is from Angie Kennedy then I just added an inch to the length and width and made the second one. I was going to have them all ready with the mix all bagged up and pretty ribbon but I'm having a hard time finding Bugles! I didn't find them at Target or Wal-Mart. I'm going to give these to my kids teachers right before Thanksgiving.
Be sure to go to SSDS challenge blog and enter your project in the challenge. Also check out Sue our Guest Designer and our other talented DT member's creations. Here is the digi images that Sue from McMahon Five Design is putting up for the prize.

D-IC Falloween Blog Hop!!

This post will stay on top until the end of the hop which is 10/8/09.
This is it!! The blog hop starts today!! If you just happened upon my blog you'll want to start at the beginning at it's at Digital-Ink Co. Store Blog. If you came here from (Kathy) Stitchy Stamps you are on the right track.

I made this Falloween basket out of my Sizzix pillow box die cut. I just saw the tutorial for this and thought I'd give it a try. Not bad considering I did it from memory. I used a digi image from (Kathy) Stitchy Stamps and colored the image with Copics. This is one of the freebies that you got at the stop of the hop. : ) Used Nesties with my Big Shot to cut out the image. This paper is from Bo Bunny and is really old! The year on the back was 2006 - yikes! But hey at least I finally used it! I also used it in my next project too, which you will see on Monday. OOOhh, oooh, I bet the suspense is just killing ya huh?!! hehehe
The Happy Halloween is just one of those $1 stamps.

Oh and don't forget you need to find the mystery letter in my blog post somewhere. Hmmmmm.... I hope I didn't make it too difficult for you gals. ; )

Thanks so much for coming by and be sure to leave me some love!! Your next stop on the hop is Jackie. Oh yeah and the store is having a 50% off sale ALL of October. How crazy is that?! Be sure to stock up on your favorite images during this sale.

The challenge at Digital-Ink Co. Challenge blog is to create a Fall/Halloween card. I used an image from Stamping Dragon Designs (Suitcase Teddy Bear) that you can find at the D-IC store. As soon as I saw this cute little bear, the first thing I thought was he could be waving goodbye to summer. I just typed up the sentiment using a fun font and printed it out in brown. I colored the image with Copics and even the background. After I did that I went back and added Gelly Roll White pen outline around the bear to make him stand out. I cut the bear and sentiment out with Nesties and my Big Shot. You need to go to D-IC Challenge blog and check out what the other DT's made. Also you want to make sure to get in on the blog hop that started last Friday. There is still time and there are great prize up for grabs and lots of freebie images too!!

SSDS Challenge Blog - Halloween Theme

This week the challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge blog is a Fall or Halloween Theme card or project.

For my card I used a vintange Halloween image I found online and printed it off onto white cardstock. Then I took the image and went crazy with the glitter.
My glue pen ran out so I tried using my clear glaze gen pen as an adhesive and it worked great. I just drew over the parts I wanted to add glitter then added the glitter and TA DA -- it stuck. Of course, I did each color of glitter separately. The paper is from My Minds Eye and the beaded "ribbon" I just got from Tuesday Morning. Very cheap too, I might add. I got three rolls of it for $1.49. What a deal and I really like how it looks. For the orange scallop cut I used a border punch from Martha Stewart.

Since you are probably making your own Halloween or Fall cards be sure to enter the challenge at SSDS challenge blog. Also be sure to go check it out and see what the other DT's did this week.
