More 3x3 Cards

More 3x3 cards for my swap.

The bird is a stamp from CTMH "Free Spirit" one of my new ones. I used pop dots under the bird image and the stamped "Free Spirit". I really like how it turned out.

3x3 Cards

Have you ever done 3x3 cards? They are just so cute and easy to make. Here are some I did for a swap on CafeMom.

I have spent HOURS on the computer the last couple of days changing up my page on here and also re-doing my MySpace page. Go check it out.

Surprise Pop Up Card

This is a card I did for a challenge in my CafeMom scrap group. It was quite the challenge for me because I messed up the assembly and had to fix that. Then my paper tore as I was glueing it. Oh there were ALOT of mess ups on this card. I THINK I covered most of them up by other paper. I'm actually going to give this to my neice who's birthday was last week. I know she will not appreciate the time and effort this took to make a card. It's not a favorite of mine because I screwed up so much but hey I can say I did it!

The sentiment says "Better late than never . . . . . . Happy Belated Birthday!"
Oops - there's ink on my finger! : }

Here is the instructions for this card by Dawn.

Waxed Paper

Do you use waxed paper in your kitchen? I do but oh so rare. First of all, I always called it wax paper, but I saw on the side of the carton it is waxed paper. I just ran out of my waxed paper and just had to show you the dispenser. I actually got this from my mom's house several years ago and it's obvious she's had it for well many, many, many years. The picture just cracked me up.

Where to start, her hair, the microwave, or the dress. There is an ad for Free Silkies(hose) on the back.

I looked all over the box to find a date when it was manufactured. All I found was on the Silkies ad on the back. 1987!!!!! I knew it was old.

I checked the internet and they do still sell Silkies and you can still get a free pair.
I hope to actually do some scrapping/stamping this weekend so I can post about that! Have a great weekend everyone.

New stuff

So you all know how much I need ribbon - right! hahaha Well, I tell ya it's an addiction! So I caved to my NEED and had to buy this ribbon because well it was on sale! I can't resist a sale!

I also HAD to buy CMTH stamps when they were on sale last month. Buy 1 get 1 free on their acrylic stamps. This is my first purchase from them. I really like the plastic container it comes in - very nice. I also was able to purchase the stamp of the month at 75% off. Now if I can just get some time to use these.

Yes, I know I have a problem!

Taekwondo

Just a little note on the personal side. A friend of mine has been taking taekwondo for about a year. She got a pass for 10 free lessons and asked me to come. I'm in desperate need of exercise!!!! I said yes and I've been three times this week, Monday, Wednesday and today. After Wednesday, I decided that after my free lessons were up that I'd join. It's $99 a month or you can do six months for $500 if you pay up front, so this isn't cheap. Oh but this is cheaper than liposuction! My friend goes M,W,& F and she's very loyal to it so I know I will have someone there to keep me motivated. Plus the other women have been very nice. Ok, so that was Wednesday. I went this morning and OH MY WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was going to die! The other days were hard and I was so hot and sweaty but today was VERY rough!! I had to take a couple of breaks, I was shaking and I almost cried. Except for one girl who is also a white belt (what you start out as)the rest have been there at least a year. I'm so out of shape and have extra weight, I just couldn't keep up. I did do the very best I could without having to go to the hospital! : } My friend was worried about me and I thought I might not join after today. I told her if this had been my first day I don't think I would have come back. But I'm going to keep it up. I KNOW I need this. Plus both kids will be in school full time this fall so no excuses about not enough time. I'll keep you'll updated on my progress.

Birthday Cards

Here are two birthday cards I made for a swap on CafeMom.

On this next one I used dry wall tape. Much cheaper than Magic Mesh and you can color it with ink. I didn't use any on ink on this one though I liked it plain.

I bought the dry wall tape at Home Depot. This is a 150 ft roll and it was under $3. This is gonna last me a long time!

Ribbon and Rainbow

I have still been working on transferring all my ribbon to my new Ribbon Ring system. I knew I had a lot of ribbon but this has really put a perspective on it. I started out buying 2 starter sets which had 30 ribbon holders in each. On each tab you can hold usually 2 different ribbons, I have squeezed 3 on some. I ran out of t he holders fast, so then I ordered another 90 holders. Guess what those are used up and now I just ordered another 90! I know it's crazy! I really do like this system and I can say this will be the LAST ribbon system I will use. All my ribbon will be in one area and I can take it with me if I want. I have been taking the rings and just laying them down and tossing them around in the process of sorting everything out. What I really like is that the ribbon stay in the holder. They don't slip out at all. Here's what I have done so far and really I don't have that much more to do. I still have to go back and sort colors out a little better but you can tell I've started on some of the rings.

Okay, so the title is ribbon and rainbow. Well the ribbon does kind of look like a rainbow but how about a picture of a real rainbow. Yesterday, early morning my kids were outside playing. Austin runs in and says "Mom, there's a rainbow!" So I follow him out and sure enough there was. I got my camera and took a couple of pictures.

Hope everyone has a fun 4th of July!

Long time no write!

So I haven't been on since the 19th! I have been on other people's blog but haven't posted anything. Main reason being is I haven't created anything! Yikes! I am STILL working on sorting and organizing my ribbon. Then I went and bought more ribbon because I found an awesome sale at Hobby Lobby. Yeah, I know, I don't need any more ribbon. I honestly have a problem when it comes to buying scrap supplies! So what else . . . . yesterday was my birthday. My bday gift was my registration for the Creating Keepsakes convention here in Tulsa in August. I registered back in May. But then my hubby surprised me and we signed a contract for an in ground pool and spa! WOO HOO!! We had been talking about it but I thought we'd start it this winter or early next year. I told the pool people not to start until after school starts back. I want my kids to be able to play outside, especially on our water slide. We are still enjoying that! I've also been selling toys and videos on craigslist.com. That's been pretty cool but alot of work taking pics of everything. I've also bought more stamps. I had to take advantage of the CTMH buy 2 get 1 free acrylic stamps special in June. Then I also took advantage of the Inque Boutique 20% off on June 28th at your LSS. The only SS in Oklahoma selling them happens to be the one I've worked at some and taught a class there. Hey, there's a picture I can post. This so far is my one and only class I've taught. I really enjoyed teaching it. It was alll about using flower, ribbon and bling. Three of my favorite things.
Hopefully, I'll be able to create again soon and post more recent work on here. Hey, if you stop by, leave me note and I'll visit your page too! Trying to meet some new friends here in the blogging world. : )

Ribbon Storage Progress

I really think I am going to like the Ribbon Ring system. But I am going to have to order a whole lot more ribbon tab holders. So far all the ribbon I have on the rings are from the basket and the big white drawer and they are still half full! It took a couple of hours to do just this. This will take a lot of time to do but I think in the end I'm going to like it. I found these book rings at Hobby Lobby yesterday.

I'm placing an order today the ALOT of ribbon tabs and some inventory stickers. Once I've completed the project I will post pics. This is the start of my scrap room reorganization. I love to organize and have everything in it's place but you would never know that by looking a my scrap room. I have before pictures of the current disaster area but I won't even post them until I can show after pics because I'm so embarrassed of how bad it looks. As organized as I am, I've come to realize that I am a messy scrapper. It's awful because I always have a hard time finding something that I need when I'm working and that's usually an item I already used, put it down then papers or something else got laid on top of it then I can't find it. Stay tuned for my scrap room redo coming soon.

Ribbon Storage

I am an avid ribbon collector. Once I got into using ribbon on my scrap pages, I became obsessed with buying ribbon. Which is pretty much what I do with any new thing I get interested in. : } Right now I'm into stamps/markers/inks for card making and yes I'm buying stuff for that. Ok enough of my obession, let's get back to the ribbon storage issue. I have found that as I continue to get more ribbon the storage I have no long works. Here is what I had for quite a while.

This worked fine until I got even more ribbon. This is what all my ribbon looks like now. It's in too many different places and I have to look through each spot when I'm looking for ribbon. I'm not using the above pictured storage anymore.

Now for my new solution and I sure hope this one will be the last! I found the Ribbon Ring. I saw it advertised in one of the scrap magazines and I think I saw it someone's blog one time too. Sorry I don't remember whose or I'd give them credit for helping me find this. I ordered 2 starter sets.

I started working on this last night. This is going to take a while and I'm sure I'll need to order more sets. So far though I think I'm going to like it. Once I have the 2 sets completed, I will post pictures. Wish me luck!

B&W w/Color LO

Here is an 8x8 LO I did for a swap in CafeMom. The theme was black and white with a splash of color. It's a little wild but I think I like it. This was the first time I used these cool flowers from Prima.

Fun $1 Stamps

I went to Joann's the other day, hadn't been there in awhile. Found these cute $1 clear stamps. I have bought many of $1 stamps from Micheal's but what I really like about these is that they also had sayings on them. They are perfect for cards. I'm hoping to get to try them out pretty soon. The first one with the cars says "When you are in a jam . . . It's nice to have a friend." isn't that cute. The fish says "Just dropping a line", the iguana (?) maybe lizard says "Age is only a number. . . mine is UNLISTED". I think the snail says "Better late than never . . Happy Belated Birthday".

Spotlight Card

Here's the first card I've ever made for a challenge. It was for a private group on CafeMom. I think it's called "spotlight" at least that is what they called it in the challenge. I'm please with how it turned out. I used SU stamps "Merci" from 2008 Sale-a-bration.
Here is a side view of the card. Why? Because that is what I see on other blogs and I guess you are suppose to do that. hahaha Really it just shows that I raised the "spotlight" areas and you can't see that it the picture as well as you can in person.

Water Slide Fun!

I made a card last night that I was going to post but I need to tweak something first soooooo I'm going to post a couple of pics of Kaitlyn and Austin. I bought them a water slide from Wal-Mart.com and picked it up at the store but they aren't even selling it online anymore. I think this was an awesome investment! The kids love it and it can get to hot here in the summer that you can't play outside unless water is involved. We've already had some neighbor kids over to play also. I can sit in the wading area and keep cool also.

My first stamp image I colored.

I made this card last night and I'm kind of excited about it because it's the first colored in stamp image that I've done. I used the only markers I have right now which are LePlumme (SP?). I'm hoping to get a set of markers from SU pretty soon. I would have added more to the front of the card but it's for a 5 year old boy and I really don't think he'll care if there was ribbon, buttons or any other type of embellishment. Inside of the card it stays "Hope your birthday's really great!" The stamps I used are SU - a hostess set called "Older and Wiser". I'm really starting to get addicted to this stamping thing. Which is a scary thing for me because it just means I going to spend more $$ stamping stuff. : O I just noticed I have Purely Pomegranate (SU) ink on my thumbnail. I was finishing the B&W w/color cards for a swap that are from my last post. I'm a messy stamper/scrapper, I always get ink all over my fingers and hands.

B&W w/Color Card

Here is a card I created for a swap. The theme is all occassion, black & white with a splash of color. My color was Purely Pomegranite from Stampin' Up'. This is the first time I made a card with a pull out tag and also the first time I used the border punch. It's a Martha Stewart punch from Michael's. I got it when they had a 50% off one Martha Stewart item.

My art!

I take a long time doing a LO. Way too long I'm sure. But I really consider it my art. Scrapping is a creative outlet for me. Yes, I love that I can showcase my kids but I really like the creating part of it. Some LO's when I get finished I think are just ok but then there are some that I'm really proud of how they turned out. Here are a few that I really like.

This was a date book that I bought online. It was suppose to be for a scrapper. I paid almost $40 with shipping. I know WAAAAAAY too much. Well, when it came it was just a cardboard front. Very plain and flimsy. I was super disappointed! So I added thin cardboard to each side and covered it front & back, added tons of ribbon. I also added the tabs to mark the different months. No, it didn't come that way. I thought this was so cool and really wanted to use it BUT. . . . after trying to use it I found out that a day by day date book is not for me! I need to see everything by the month. I ended up giving this to one of my nieces. I was sad to see it go but I just wasn't using it. : (

I made 5 of these clipboards for Kaitlyn and Austin's teacher for Christmas. They were a big hit.

Here is my first and only LO I've done using a sketch. It was for a challenge in a scrap group that I'm in on Cafe Mom. I won the challenge too! That is my son Austin. Isn't he a cutie!!

Here's my daughter Kaitlyn in her dance class last year. Isn't she a cutie too!
This was from Dec. 2006 but I didn't scrap it until last fall. We don't get snow like this to often here in Oklahoma, so when it does snow you get out the camera.
Wow that was a lot of trouble to get these pictures on! This is only my second post and the first time I've added pics. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. I need to figure out how to do all the links to other people blogs, my favorite websites and other cool stuff. I don't want my blog to be boring! : }
